Limerick firm’s new markets and new staff make for an exciting year ahead
Ishka Irish Spring Water is delighted to announce it will have two new production lines up and running in the first half of 2020, bringing the total number of lines in use at their Ballyneety base to five.
The first line will allow the company supply their products in glass bottles, to cater for a growing demand among the hospitality market, as well as a general consumer appetite for recyclable options.
The second of the new production lines will further expand on the company’s sustainability drive, as it will be dedicated to a new type of recyclable plastic container. All of Ishka’s current bottles are 100% recyclable and the company’s continually working towards increasing their recycled content too.
Ishka will create nine new jobs through the expansion at the site in Ballyneety, bringing the total head count to 45.
It’s been an extremely busy couple of years for Ishka Irish Spring Water, and this year has seen the company begin to make moves into the export market. Management have their sights set on exciting potential in Asia and the US, where they believe their products could have a real impact.
Winning the contract to supply WH Smith outlets in Ireland was a highlight of this year, and is another high-profile addition to Ishka Irish Spring Water’s impressive portfolio of customers, including Aldi, BWG Group, Dunnes Stores, Lidl and the Musgrave Group.
Director Michael Sutton says:
“We’ve a relatively small team at Ishka Irish Spring Water but I think we’ve shown what dedication and hard work can achieve and I’m so proud of everyone here and the role they’ve played to date. We’re looking forward to finding new people who can help us in the drive to become the number one independent water brand in the country, both with private label and the Ishka brand products.”
